Commercial Property/NBG Liaison, Craig Peterson:
Craig updated the Board on business developments within the Newtown area.
Old Business:
1. Refuse Containers: At least two of the four refuse containers secured from the City through the efforts of Steve Plumbley have disappeared from their locations. The Board discussed whether there might be a way to make them a little less easy to walk off with.
2. Studio Walk: The walk of the Newtown artists’ studios was not widely attended but those who did go reported that they found it interesting and enjoyable. The artists also seemed to have enjoyed it. There was a consensus that we should be repeat it at some future date. Thanks to Leslie Banta, Barbara Buckingham, Anne Hanger, Barbara Martin, and Nancy Sparr for opening their studios.
New Business:
1. Christmas Tree Walk: The date for 6th Annual NNA Christmas Tree Walk is set for Saturday, December 22nd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The preview walk for hosts and Board members will be on Friday evening, starting at the top on NOB hill at 6:00 p.m. and, following gravity, will conclude at Shirley Masters’ house for refreshments.

Announcements:
1. Ed Miska has been appointed to the Board of the Historic Staunton Foundation.
2. The HSF conferred an award for a “Residential Special Project” upon Bob Barron and William Donovan for their renovation of the Stuart/Cochran carriage house on Federal.
