Minutes of the April meeting were approved

Treasurer's Report
Sandra McNeill: $2470.10 with no renewals or donations

Committee Reports

Community Issues: Sara Hollberg
There have been some recent thefts in the neighborhood--rhododendron shrubs, the Tea House had their 200 pound elephant lifted. There has been drug traffic reported on St. Clair St. on the south side of Stuart.

A letter of thanks was written by Sara thanking City council for support of block grant.

Commercial Property: Craig Peterson
Paul Anderson will be selling all of his property. He is trying to sell it as a whole to one owner.

Old Business

Ed Miska suggested that NNA designate one weekend a year as neighborhood spring cleanup and invite residents to clean up their own yards, blocks or street. NNA would get the bagged trash to the dump or ready for city pick up. Hopefully this could coincide with the April big trash pick up. Possibly an award or prize could be presented for the street most successful in cleaning up.

Joel Hodson reported that Shenandoah Shakespeare is OK with NNA doing something on the footpath between Fillmore and Lewis Sts. However, they have not consulted their lawyer.

Shirley will call about the pooper scoopers and how we can get them.

We are still trying to arrange to have Terry Graham from APVA come talk to us about the upcoming conference in September

The trash can project has been tabled till next meeting

Ice Cream Social date has been set for Saturday, July 14, 2-5 p.m. Elisabeth Dyjak will host.

Steve Plumbley reported on the proposed Newtown Art Walk. Nancy Spahr has not accepted being the coordinator. NNA will try to find an assistant for her and ask again. Sara Hollberg mentioned a stained glass establishment on Central Ave. that could be part of the walk.

New totes are ready and waiting to be sold.

New Business

Barbara Martin presented a first draft of the June newsletter. Two items were added about the upcoming Arts Walk in October and a request for members to send Sara their email addresses to be included in the announcements she sends out.

Corporal Siron from the police department will come to the next NNA meeting on June 12. Cleve will call Tommy from CIA to let them know about the meeting. NNA will also invite Greg Jackson and Wade Luhn to the meeting.

It was agreed there will be no NNA Board meeting in July.
The next meeting will be June 12 at 6:30 at Shirley Master's home, 18 Church St. In case of rain the meeting will be held at the home of Sandra McNeill, 115 Church St.
