Old Business

APVA Conference will happen in Staunton on Sept. 21, 22, 23 and will include tours of Stonewall Hotel, Frontier Culture Museum, Western State. Katherine Brown will do a walking tour of Newtown. NNA may possibly provide refreshments for the walking tour.

Winter Social was a great success. Over 100 people attended

Trash cans were discussed to be placed possibly at Stonewall school and on the next block of Beverley. It was suggested NNA could purchase the trash cans and we could approach the city about emptying them. Steve Plumbley will call the city to get feedback.
Sidewalks were discussed and it was decided that we will wait to find out what the block grant might cover.

New Business:

APVA Workshop in Martinsville April 23. Shirley suggested that we possibly try to get APVA to do a workshop in Staunton.

Spring Cleanup: It was suggested and most agreed that we coordinate the spring cleanup with Earth Day on April 21.

Garden Walk: The board decided not to do a garden walk this year, due to lack of interest last year. We would rather do an artist's walk or kitchen walk. Steve Plumbley will talk to Nancy Spahr re heading up an artists walk in Newtown.

Ice Cream Social: We would like to do this again this year in July. Hopefully Elizabeth Djyak will agree to put on the event again this year.

Next newsletter items: Heavy trash pickup, proper dog doo-doo cleanup, compliments to city cleanup crew, new businesses opening--tux rental and hair care places on Beverley and Tea Bazaar.

Next Meeting: Tuesday, April 10, 6:30 p.m., Steve Plumbley's house, 20 Fayette St.
